The brief
The brief was to build a pool house that would blend seamlessly with the other structures within the grounds. A small WC and kitchen area were key requirements, along with a covered outdoor seating area, and the plant room located at the rear of the building.
How we did it
Alongside the client, we enlisted, HAA Ltd, a prestigious local architect, to draw up the plans.
The oak frame was constructed on beautiful reclaimed stock bricks, all of which compliment the orangery on the main house.
The windows were built by a very skilled joiner, who matched them perfectly to the orangery. Lime render external panels installed between the oak framework provide a great contrast to the brick and timber.
The sedum green roof and cobblestone border disguises a fibreglass finished roof deck, with anthracite aluminium guttering and downpipe to match that of the main house.
Internally, the building was fitted with Celotex rigid insulation in the floor, walls and ceiling, and is fitted with an electric radiator and heated towel rail for year round comfort.
The flooring is a smooth limestone that matches the external patio. An external loggia area with ceiling fan, was created to offer some shelter on a hot day.
The project took approximately 3 months to complete.
