Creating a minimalist, modern garden for a new-build house in Aylesbury
This job in Aylesbury, started with a genuine blank canvas: a new build that hadn’t even been turfed. With a tight budget, we created an amazing, contemporary garden, with smooth sandstone paving, rendered and painted retaining walls with raised beds and patio section. A screened off shed and bin area around the corner keeps things tidy.
Granite sett driveway in Temple
It just goes to show, that if you do a good job, it can lead to more work down the line. 6 months prior to this project, we laid a beautiful travertine patio for this customer in Temple, near Marlow. That lead to this interesting, if slightly repetitive project: A granite set driveway and parking area. Over 5 weeks, we laid over 26,000 individual sets (340 square metres), extended the paving and built retaining walls. The parking area also involved a hidden drainage channel to quickly remove rainwater from the main parking area.
A sunken patio in Marlow
This garden started with a tiny patio with barely enough room for a table and chairs, strange for such a large overall space. We set about creating a sunken patio with retaining walls and drainage. The paving is a beautiful smooth sandstone, and the project was finished off with some creative planting to add seasonal colour throughout the year.
A multi-tiered garden in Marlow
This project was located in Marlow, and like many Marlow gardens, the main challenge was combating the dramatic slope from front to back. The brief was to create a multi-tiered garden, with a large level lawn and paths, steps and planted borders on the way down from the house. The customer was keen to use sleepers, and wanted these to be oak. So 270 oak sleepers later, we created a garden that we designed from initial customer consultation. The original, uninspiring garden was transformed into something that complimented the house, which had recently been refurbished inside and out, to a very high standard, and modern style. Another happy customer!
